Dear Ga~, The recent Gaze~e interest in power lines leads me to raise an opportuni~ which the City may want to explore while it is discussing matters with the utilities. In the southeast corner of Coppell, there are ~o power lines which might be pa~ially consolidated. By consolidating these ~o lines the Ci~ would consolidate some of the hazards from lines and free up one of the easements for development. The cost of consolidating the ~o lines (both above ground) should not be that expensive and might be justified through the increased prope~y value to the owner of the freed-up easement (and who might be willing to contribute to the cost of moving the lines), and, as the land value increases from eliminating the line, the City benefits from increased prope~ taxes. Please see the attached map. Specifically, is it possible to run the orange power line with with the green power line? - note the lines already run concurrent on the single easement east of MacA~hur. It appears as though both the green easement has the capacity in terms of land size (and tower capacity) to car~ the lines now running on the orange line (the orange line only has, as I recall, three lines). Again, we are talking about moving above ground lines to another above ground easement - something the power company was willing to do for free in the case of the Sandy Lake Road issue. Even if not free, as said, the benefit to the prope~y owner combined with the benefit in tax revenue to the Ci~ might be wo~h the effo~. Ce~ainly, one less easement in the communi~ is better both health wise an~ aesthetically. No need to respond in writing (you're busy enough) but please give me a quick call to convene you thoughts. If I can assist please let me know. It drives me nuts to see more power line easements in Coppell than necessa~! Sincerely, Y ~ng o~j~?~dday) cc Jim Wi~ MF.~ SF-IZ · RC A MF-P 0 PD-114.
