A couple of items raised some questions and require clarification. Itemized unit prices were calculated as follows from the information provided by you. ITEM QUANTITY UNIT COST TOTAL Sidewalk 1600 sq. ft. $3.00/sq. ft. $4800.00 Left Turn Lane 46 yards $114.13/yd. $5250.00 Drive Approach 18 yards $60/yd. $1080.00 8" Tap & Connections 1 each $700.00 $700.00 Concrete Vault 1 each $2275.00 $2275.00 It appears that the cost shown for the drive approach is only taking into account the price of the concrete without any of the reinforcement. Since the drive approach should have been constructed to the same standards as the left-turn lane, the unit prices should be approximately equal. "CITY OF COPPELL ENGINEERING -EXCELLENCE BY DESIGN" For comparison purposes, we received a cost estimate (materials only, no profit or labor) for an 8" x 6" tapping vah~e and saddle with all necessary components for $867.00. Since your internal fire line is an 8" line, the price for the 8" tap and connections should be somewhat higher than the $700.00 that you quote. Please explain. You provided a cost for the fire vault in the amount of $2275.00 however the cost For the double detector check alone is higher than the quoted price. The double detector check and meter with all components and fees is $2364.00. This does not include the price for the vault itself. Please verify.
