FYI ........ Timeline:
Sept. 30th ..... plan approval letter was sent to the engineer requiring a few minor changes and the payment
of fees.
Corrected plans returned on 10/15/03 and were signed on 10/16/03.
Spoke with Rick Hughes (contractor) on 10/21/03 regarding the engineering inspection fee calculations. I
explained the process and faxed him the appropriate forms and told him that he could fax me the
calculations for review prior to having a check cut from corporate.
Mr. Hughes faxed me the calculations the morning of 10/22/03 and I reviewed them and called him the
afternoon of 10/22/03 to let him know the numbers looked fine. He said that he would have a check
overnighted from the corporate office and pay the fees on 10/23/03. 1 informed him that we would work on
scheduling a pre -con but it would be canceled if the fees were not paid.
First thing the morning of 10/23/03 1 told Rhonda to get with the inspector to set up the pre -con. Garreth
took the project and had Rhonda call Mr. Hughes to give him Garreth's phone number. Mr. Hughes did
not come in to pay fees on 10/23/03 nor did he call Garreth.
10/24/03 - Fees still have not been paid and Mr. Hughes did not call Garreth. Garreth called Mr. Hughes
this afternoon and left a message. Mr. Hughes returned Garreth's call and informed him that he was on
vacation today but they discussed what could be done on -site prior to the pre -con. Garreth will be in touch
with Mr. Hughes next Monday and they will likely meet early in the week however, a pre -con will not be
held nor will a permit be issued until the engineering inspection fees are paid.
