Box 1500 Little Elm, Texas 75068 RE: Shadow Ridge Estates Retaining Wall DR 03 -01 Review Comments Dear Mr. Clark: Following a review of the above referenced construction plans, we have the following comments for your consideration: COVER SHEET L Add the project number "DR 03 -01" to the title ofthe plans. 2. Diana Raines is listed twice in the City Council. 3. The logo has been e- mailed to you. SHEET 1 OF 4 1. Change "replaced with 2 — 3" red oaks" to "replaced with 3 — 3" red oaks ". 2. Add the following sentence to the tree removal note: "It shall be the contractor's responsibility to ensure that the 3 — 3" red oaks are alive and healthy at the end of one year from the project completion date ". SHEET 2 OF 4 1. Label the triple 4" mesquite tree that is to be removed. 2. Show the symbol for the existing retaining wall in the legend. 3. What is the length of the beam? Delete the note for ground cover. We only want the erosion control blanket with seeding. 3. As discussed, extend the concrete beam to meet the edge of the existing slope paving. SHEET 4 OF 4 General 1. Note 13 — Will we need topsoil behind the gabion wall if we delete the ground cover and install the erosion control blanket and seeding? Delete this note if topsoil is not required. 2. Note 14 — Delete this note pertaining to ground cover. 3. Note 15 — Correct this note as necessary. Do they manufacture erosion control blankets that are pre- seeded? Does the area behind the gabion wall need to be seeded before or after the installation of the erosion control blanket? Earthwork 1. Note 1 — Change the second sentence to read: "Any required underpinning or shoring shall be subsidiary to Remove and Dispose of Railroad Tie Retaining Wall pay item ". There is not a pay item for excavation. 2. Note 4 — Change "92 and 98 percent" to "95 and 100 percent" and " +4 percentage" to " +5 percentage ". Testing 1. Remove this note. The City will employ the testing lab. Summary of Quantities 1. Correct as necessary. Enclosed is the review set of construction plans with our comments. Please make the necessary revisions to the plans and resubmit two sets, as well as the review set, to the City.
