Project Manager Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. 12700 Park Central Drive, Suite 1800 Dallas, TX 75251 RE: First Baptist Church Expansion Lot 1, Block A Construction Plan 5th Review Comments Dear Mr. Hoenes: The City of Coppell has reviewed the revised plans for the referenced project submitted on November 3, 2003. These plans meet our minimum requirements; however, prior to the start of construction an adequate number of construction plans should be submitted to the City so that they can be signed by the City Engineer. The City of Coppell requires three sets of plans for our use. In addition to that, you should submit an adequate number of plans for your contractors and subcontractors. All contractors working on the project must have a set of construction plans signed by the City Engineer. While the plans, as submitted, do meet our minimum requirements, there are still two items that need some consideration during the early stages of construction. 1. Sheet C -6 states that the structural design of the retaining wall shall be provided by the contractor per the wall manufacturer. Portions of the wall are now proposed to be approximately 4 foot tall. It is quite conceivable that a footing or foundation may be needed on this wall, in lieu of leveling pad, as shown. 2. While a Traffic Control Plan has been submitted to the City for the construction within Denton Tap Road, there is still some concern on how traffic will be handled on site during the reconstruction of the northern entrance, that is located at the median opening on Denton Tap Road Some thought needs to be given on how cars will enter and exit the church site during the construction of the drive approaches.
