RE:
Sandy Lake Road Project #ST 93-01
138 KV Electric Transmission Line Conflict
Oncor Line: Ligget-Collin, Dwg TD30507, Sh 13
Dear Mr. Scarborough:
This letter is written in response to your January 9, 2003 letter concerning the height of transmissions lines as they
cross the proposed Sandy Lake Road slightly west of Riverchase Drive. Your letter indicated that the line should
be raised approximately 1.5 feet or the street lowered approximately 1.5 feet. Your letter further indicated that the
minimum clearance is 22 feet and the recommended design clearance is 23 feet.
In response to your letter, the City of Coppell contracted with Jacobs Engineering, Inc. to redesign a portiun of
Sandy Lake Road. This redesign goes from approximately Sra. 43 to Sta. 52. This includes Sra. 48 + 49, which is
referenced in your letter as a critical location. Based on information obtained by our consultants, the critical
stauon is now noted as 48 +37.
Included with this letter is a copy of construction plans showing that the critical Sra. 48+37 on Sandy Lake Road
has been lowered two feet. That two-foot lowering remains constant from approximately Sra. 49 + 50 to Sta. 46.
Based on revisions to the coustructkm plans, there is now a minimum clearance provided of 25.5 feet. This should
now satisfy the clearance requirements required for TXU transmission lines.
If you should have any questions or need an.,,' additional information please feel free to contact me at your
convenience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
