Upon removal of the old concrete roadway, it was established that the gas service lines that provide much needed heating fuel for these winter months were not unde~r the roadway as anticipated, but in the roadway. Therefore, the lines have to be lowered and construction of the project has come to a grinding halt. This is the second time in the past month that a highly visible City project has encountered problems with as-built plans or construction expectations. The other being the Town Center roofing project, which many of you know was once again a situation where the as-built plans did not reflect the actual conditions once reconstruction began. If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me. There are two notices in your FYI this week.
