On July 16, 1998, Mr. Kevin Cox, Fimt Deput7 Executive Director of DF'W Airport, wrote
Mayor Sheehan a letter concerning the rezoning of acreage located on the southeast
comer of Bethel Road and South Coppell Road from commercial to single family homes.
A copy of that letter is attached for your reference.
Tonight, the Planning and Zoning Commission will again deliberate the rezoning request
on this acreage idenUlled as Case No. PD-108R4-WESTCHASE. This is to inform you
that DFW Airport's' pcoiUon remains the same as desc~'bed in Mr. Cox's letter to Mayor
Sheehan.
In reviewing the city's staff repot, I am unable to locate any reference of review and/or
support by Coppell's outside special airport counsel. Lacldng such, I plan to attend
tonight's P & Z Commission Meeting to restate DFW A~port's concerns, and will again
request action to be deferred until outside special council has briefed the city.
