Tidbits
Based oo thc interest we rcceived, and concerns expressed by potential bidders we have decided
il would be a wise move to delay the bid openings for thc Carter Crowley property. Bidders
have become coocerned about their ability to properly do diligence for self surveys,
environmental work, etc. and to have that all completed by Dec. 22 when bids arc due. Based
on their concern we have made a decision to push thc due date back to Jan. 12, 2004. This will
allow us proper time to evaluate the bids and get them to you at your second meeting in Jan.
We apologize if'this caused any problems but wc are doing this in the best interest of the city in
hopes of sccoring very competitive bids for the property.
Just a reminder to bc at Town Center at 2:45 p.m. this Sat. Dec. 6. You will then be transported
to the parade. Long Sleeve T-shirts will be provided to you when you arrive at Town Center.
if you have any specifics for thc Wednesday joint meeting with thc Chamber please advise me
of such. The meeting begins at 7:30 a.m. on Wed., Dec. 10 at Daddy Jacks. If you cannot
attend, please give mc a call.
DFW Airport staff has notified the City that they will not bc providing the right of way
necessary for us to build West Bethcl adjacent to airport property unless the City signs thc
infamous revenue sharing agreement related to the airport's property in Coppcll. We will be
making further inquiries with DFW sta£f over thc next several days in an effort to solve this
issue.
Oncor bas notified our project inspector that they will complete the gas service lowerings
associated with the Bethel School Road project today. The contractor should be able to
rcmobilize next week on thc road improvements. There will be one additional gas service line
requiring attention xvhen the road work shifts to tbe west bound lanes.
