Mr. Kenneth M. Griffin:
In response to your letter dated March 6, 1995, we have assessed the estimated
cost for the placement of temporary, open-flow measures to carry Culvert S-5's
discharge of the aforementioned project from the culvert's outlet to the
outfall at Denton Creek. The temporary measures would include the followings
channel excavation, flume riprap, block sod: metal beam guard fence, guardrail
extruder terminals, and one modified wingwall. The estimated cost would be
approximately $64,500.
With regards to your requesting a commitment from The Texas Department of
Transportation for the above funds being forwarded to a permanent, closed
drainage system, we are willing to extend our hand in cooperation. The exact
amount can not be determined at this time; but, we are willing to commit to
approximately $64,500. We appreciate your compiling the remaining design data
and costs to complete the drainage design along the East side of Denton Tap
Road. We will need your response and commitment for the remaining funds to
construct the permanent, closed drainage facility and the necessary design
data to include in our project plans by April 14, 1995.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please feel
free to contact Mr. Kenneth J. Shirley at the above address or at telephone
number (214) 235-7797.
