Comments for Submittal No. 13 - 8" Fire Line Meter Vault
1. Precast vault shall have minimum sidewall thickness of 6" of 4,500 PSI concrete with
#4 steel bars 8" on center. Poured-in-place vault shall have minimum sidewall
thickness of 8" of 3,000 PSI concrete with #4 steel bars 12" on center.
The bottom of thc vault shall be 8" thick (min.) with #4 steel bars 12" on center both
directions. A 4" deep 12" diameter sump shall be installed to one side in the center of
the bottom slab.
Vault door/lid assembly shall be Bilco Type Q-4 Single Leaf design. Angle frame to
be ¼" steel with strap anchors bolted to exterior. Leaf to be ¼" steel diamond pattern
plate, pivoting on torsion bars, with a minimum live load capacity of 150 psf. Lid to
be 3' x 3' with locking hasp and ring.
