Re:
East/West Road
Gentlemen:
Ken Griffin was kind enough to get back to me yesterday and
explain the situation on the east/west road. He stated that Tim
West picked up the plans and was working on the new revised bids.
I talked with Tim West this morning and he has gotten the figures
back due to the fact that he got the contractor to bid on the
proposed changes we had diSCussed at our meeting in Coppell, which
many of you artended.
AS you know, the original bid was for $179,800.00. The new
bid (see attached breakdown) is for a total of $160,180.00. Of
that amount, $19,460 is for the water line, which will be paid for
entirely by the city.

ObviouslV, Tim is anxious to get underway and is planning to
start the spxne road tomorrow. He would like to Know if the
east/west road is going to be included, so we need to get our heads
together and either approve or disapprove this bid. we know that
£or a~tual approval it has to be submitted to the City CounCil,
which requires a 72 hour allowance for a special meeting. Mowever,
it'would appear to me that if Ken Griffin, Harry and others feel
this is a good bid, it would certainly be recommended to the
council and they would take the appropriate action. In the
meantime, Tim could get underway with the contracting.
Ken, please look this memo over and be sure that I am correct.
I may have misunderstood some points so please let me know if they
need clarification. It appears that we need to communicate between
the various parties involved and come to a decision as rapidly as
possible.
Please give me a call.
with best regards,
Dan Beaird
