Identification Observation and Sampling of Pavement Subgrade
Method of Test ASTM D4318
At the request of Eric Royal of First United Methodist Church, a representative of our firm
visited the above referenced site. The purpose was to observe an area of pavement subgrade
ready to be compacted in the north central portion of the proposed parking lot. Observations
and testing were performed to ensure that exposed soils had a plasticity index of 20 or less.
A total of six (6) test pits of exposed pavement subgrade were excavated to a depth of six (6)
inches.
Results of a representative test sample obtained are as follows:
