Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E., Assistant City Manager/City Engineer~
Discussion and consideration of awarding Bid/Contract # Q-1295-03 for the
construction of Town Center Drive and Town Center Boulevard as allocated
for in the CIP Program and the Public Road Escrow Agreement with the
Parks of Coppell Trust to Site Concrete, Inc. in the amount of $444,214.25
and authorizing the Mayor to sign.
February 19, 1996
On February 9, 1996, nine bids were received and opened for Project ST 95-02. The low
bidder on this project is Site Concrete Inc. They are a firm that has worked on numerous
subdivisions in the City and have performed to the expectations of the City. City staff is very
familiar with the personnel that would be performing this job for the City and is comfortable
with Site Concrete Inc. as the low bidder. This project consist of the construction of Town
Center Blvd. from Parkway Blvd. south to the existing section of East/West Town Center Blvd.
currently under construction. This project also consist of looping a water line from Denton Tap
to Parkway Blvd. and providing drainage to alleviate the standing water problem experienced
around Town Center Blvd. The funding for this project is from CIP funds and from a financial
contribution by the Parks of Coppel Trust. This project has a very tight time schedule so that
it will coincide with the construction of the Criminal Justice Center.
Staff recommends the award of Town Center Blvd. ST 95-02 to Site Concrete Inc. in the total
amount of $444,214.25, with a City participation amount of $327,307.80 and with the balance
being paid by Parks of Coppell Trust. Staff will be available to answer any questions at the
Council meeting.
