GENERAL COMMENTS ~ (SHEET PP-1 to PP-14)
1. Ninety-foot median openings are shown. Did TranSystems verify the 90-foot
opening with the turning radius software? We had initially suggested 75-foot breaks
pending verification form the turning software.
2. There is a note on several of the existing drives that states "Remove and Replace
Existing Curb." The existing curb will not be replaced and the existing drive will be
removed to the saw-cut line shown on the plans.
3. What pavement width is Grapevine using? Is it 25-foot back to back?
Can we work around the relocation of the Explorer Pipeline by narrowing the
pavement width? There is a section of pipeline under the proposed right-hand turn
lane.
5. There is a Police Department memorial located at the drive to Gulf Industries. This
memorial will have to be relocated.
6. There is existing irrigation along both sides of the roadway that will have to be
addressed.
SHEET PP-5
1. Should the turn radii at the drive at Station 22+10.63 be 25'? This drive is for the
truck dock.
SHEET PP-11
1. Is a median opening required at approximate Station 51+20 to access the rear of
Minyards?
SHEET PP-13
Label the turn radii at the drive at Station 62+68.83. Move the drive approximately
150 feet to the west to align with parking aisle in Minyards parking lot. Add
restricted median opening across from the drive. Relocate proposed inlet at Station
61+50 to allow flexibility to work with Minyards. All of the work needs to be
coordinated with Minyards.
GENERAL COMMENTS ~ SHEET WS-1 to WS-6
1. It is usually more efficient to install new fire hydrants than to relocate existing fire
hydrants. Will check with the Streets Department. Need to ensure that them is 3 feet
of clearance around the proposed fire hydrants.
2. Some of the proposed storm drain/existing water line crossings are labeled. Would
consider labeling all of the storm drain/existing water line and storm drain/existing
sewer line crossings. Need to show some elevations along the existing 15-inch sewer
line or note that the existing sewer line is not in conflict with any of the proposed
improvements.
The existing 16-inch water line will need to be protected in the locations where there
is less than 2 feet of separation between the top of the water line and the bottom of the
proposed storm drain.
SHEET WS~
Need to note that the existing 8-inch sewer line is abandoned. Will the existing
manhole at approximate Station 30+35 need to be adjusted? Will the existing
manhole at approximate Station 34+60 need to be capped or removed?
SHEET WS-5
1. Will the curb need to be adjusted around the manhole located at Station 59+51.987
SHEET WS-6
1. The manhole at approximate Station 64+40 is incorrectly labeled. Will the manhole
at approximate Station 65+65 need to be adjusted?
GENERAL COMMENTS ~ SHEETS SD-1 to SD-14
1. Laterals will not be field connected to storm drain lines, they will be connected with
wyes. Would consider prefabricated pipe connections as opposed to concrete collars.
Need to add note stating that all wyes and pipe connections shall be prefabricated.
2. Minimum of 21-inch lateral at low point inlets.
3. Would consider showing the existing water and sewer lines in the profile view.
