Request for Variance on Pavement Design
Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Marvin:
On behalf of Duke Construction, we request that the City of Coppell grant a variance t
the Subdivision Ordinance on the pavement design criteria for the above referenced site.
Duke Construction wishes to eliminate the use of lime stabilization on this project in
order to save on cost associated with the pavement. In lieu of lime stabilization Duke
Construction will increase the concrete strength from 3000 psi to 4000 psi in both public
and private pavement areas, but the thickness will not change. In areas within the public
right of way along drive approaches the subgrade will be composed of a minimum six /
(6)-inch thick flexible base.
Thank you, for your consideration on this matter. If you have any questions or need any
additional information, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
C. Jack(Evans
