COUNTY'S RESPONSE TO 9/1/95 LETTER

As discussed at the predesign conference, construction of tgy(mdu~s '
deals ~d specifications Br inclusion in the pl~ set ~d bid pachge.
Conduits may also be included in this project at the request of the City. The City must
provide the locations, sizes, and any details and specifications necessary for inclusion in
the plan set and bid package.
CoppeWs request for 4:1 slopes will be followed in the Coppell City Limits. The
additional costs associated with such slopes will be the responsibility of the City of
Coppell.
4&5.
A geotechnical investigation and report were subcontracted by the consultant. The
recommended geotechnical procedures will be followed in constructing the proposed
embankment.
/6. The inlet will be relocated.
Raising Belt Line Road would not help the grade transition at the Mockingbird
intersection. The consultant is reevaluating the proposed grades at Moore.
The proposed railroad crossing details are attached. Please note that this crossing is in
the City of Dallas.
,
The County requested the consultant to remove the toe-of-slope symbols where the
proposed toe-of-slope is within the right-of-way and conforms with the typical section.
10.
The Moore Road intersection is in the City of Dallas. If the City of Coppell wishes to
provide the funding for constructing the brick pavers in the City of Dallas, the
intersection will be constructed with the requested pavers.
ll&13. According to Halff Associates and using their hydraulic models prepared for the City
of
Coppell, the 100-year flood elevation can be lowered to 459.50 feet at the upstream face
of the bridge. Therefore, a revised low chord elevation of 461.50 was used to refine the
pavement profile shown in the alignment study.
12.
The consultant has been directed to evaluate the sight distance at the Northgate
intersection.
14.
Halff Associates recen~y completed a report for the City of Coppell regarding Grapevine
Springs. No additional report will be prepared as a part of this contract.
15.
Shifting the inlets, and subsequen~y the low points, further toward Belt Line Road will
increase the severity of the grade transition that the City requested be modified in the
previously noted item 7.
16.
As correctly noted by the City the outfall is improperly shown. The consultant
has been directed to correct this item.
The consultant has been directed to clarify the drainage pattern for areas B3, C 1,
C17, etc.
The asterisk note questioned on the plan set shows that the drainage boundary
only includes the area that can be adequately carried in the existing system.
