Re: Project Status
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Listed below is the status of each portion of this project.
Force Main Lines A & B - This project is at a pre-bid status. The plans and specifications are
99% complete and will be ready for bid once contract information supplied by the City is included
in the specifications.
I have contacted TRA regarding connecting into their system at Beltline Road. TRA has indicated
that the actual manhole/line that we are connecting to is not their line. The TRA line begins
downstream of our connection point. TRA will not require a Point of Entry Permit, but since we
are changing the contributing flow area for the TRA line, they have requested that a Point of Entry
application be turned in so the change in flow area may be accounted for in their hydraulic model.
TRA does not see a problem at this time with the change in flow area. I am currently preparing the
Point of Entry application to submit to you and then to TRA.
After review of the connection at Beltline Road with TRA and the determination that their line
starts downstream of our connection, an alternative connection point / method was developed. The
new alternative connection appears to be easier to construct, but will require some additional
materials. A preliminary drawing of the alternative connection is attached to this letter.
Force Main Line C - This project has been constructed and tested. Force Main Lines B & D have
been modified to match the connecting point locations and elevations of Line C. The final record
drawings for this project are included in this submittal.
Force Main Line D - This project is considered 90% complete. The vertical pipe riser to be
placed on this line at the Sandy Lake Station is currently being designed. Upon completion of this
review the project will be at a pre-bid status.

Deforest Lift Station - This project is considered to be 80% complete. The final details of the
control building, electrical design, brick wall replacement layout, and shrub planting details are
currently being finalized to be included in the plans and specifications.
Sandy Lake Lift Station - The plans for this station are not included in this submittal. The
mechanical design of the station is complete including pump selection. We are in the process of
detailing the proposed improvements on photograph based plan sheets.
The Deforest and Sandy Lake Lift Station will be one set of plans and specifications upon
completion. The plans for the Sandy Lake stations and the details for the final phasing and
connecting of the force mains will be included in the next submittal.
A construction cost estimate for Force Mains Lines A, B, and D and the Deforest Lifl Station are
attached. One item available to reduce the cost of the force mains is to reduce the amount of steel
casing used on the bores of the force mains.
I look forward to continuing progress on this project and bringing it to conclusion. Please review
this submittal and we may meet to discuss the project at your convenience. If you have any
questions, please contact me at 972-735-3048.
Sincerely,
Project Manager
