One-Year Maintenance Bond Walk-Through
Dear Mr. Mears:
The Streets and Utility Departments performed a walk-through on Belt Line Road related
to the one-year maintenance bond period. Attached is a copy of the Streets Department's
comments. The Utility Department did not find any deficiencies. Please let me know
when the street items are corrected. Should you have any questions or need any

Walk-thru for Bond for Beltline Rd. Revised 1/29/04
Make repairs at Mockingbird/Beltline intersection advanced loop box attached to
south side of bridge 85 + 25.
Turn mastarm pole - T3 - to proper alignment to the travel lanes
(Mockingbird/Beltline).
Remove old span wire pole from median at Mockingbird/Beltline.
Remove old spanwire pole from south side of Moore/Beltline that cabinet is on.
East bound west of Mockingbird on southeast side of bridge, 3' X 8' section of sloping
concrete embankment is breaking up where it meets the vertical rise of the bridge
structure.
Guardrails on bridge west of Mockingbird:
West bound direction - guardrail is offset guardrail and top needs to be 27" above
where vehicles wheels would be - not off pavement.
Terminal head is buried in dirt and will not function properly. This would be
resolved if rail were raised to correct height.
Terminal cable needs to be tightened. Spacer blocks are loose and have twisted.
Bolt through the post at the splice does not go through the rail.
East bound direction -
Terminal head is setting on curb.
East bound has no offset, but still needs to be raised.
Terminal cable needs to be tightened.
Bolt through the post at the splice does not go through the rail.

Eighth post is not a breakaway post.
West bound is offset, east bound is not. These generally should be either both offset or
not.
