ST9304-CS 950526DALLAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS May 26, 1995 Mr. Ken Griffin, P.E. Assistant City Manager/City Engineer City of Coppell P O Box 478 255 Parkway Boulevard Coppell, TX 75019 Re: Belt Line Road -- Project No. 490-403.1 / 91-829 (Denton Tap Road to MacArthur Boulevard) Intersection Geometry Responses Dear Mr. Griffin: To confirm our discussion of May 23, 1995, the City of Coppell desires the following geometric configurations for the following free right turn lanes. Moore Road - a three centered curve, a five foot offset, and a ninety square foot raised concrete island Mockingbird Lane - a sixty foot radius and a twenty foot lane width MacArthur Boulevard - Northeast Corner - Southwest Corner - a fifty foot radius, an eighteen foot lane width, and a painted island a three centered curve, a twenty foot lane width, and an eighty square foot raised concrete island The consultant is determining if any of the railroad signal gates will require adjustment at the northeast corner of MacArthur Boulevard. Additionally, I have spoken with the consultant regarding their assertion that the intersection details are outside the scope of their contract. The County believes that the design contract is for the complete design of Belt Line Road and including the intersections. The consultant believes that since the intersections will not require redesign of the railroad, this question of contract scope is no longer an issue. Paving plans, cross sections and drainage area maps will be sent for your review in approximately two weeks. To date this project has experienced only minor delays. We appreciate the City's efforts on this project and look forward to the timely completion of this project. Sincerely, 411 Elm Street Dallas, Texas 75202 653-7151
