ST0301-CS040209Utility Design Suzan Taylor - Re: Utility Design From: Suzan Taylor To: Tammy Hoelscher Date: 2/9/2004 10:43 AM Subje~: Re: Utility Design Page ! of 1 q -o5 0 3 Tammy: Our design manual consists of the construction standards and the subdivision ordinance. The City does prefer that new lines are located outside of the pavement, however the line can be located under the pavement when there are no other options. Go ahead and send the details for our files - in case the question ever comes up about the line under the pavement. I sent TranSystems your HEC PAS results and also ask them to run HECs on gabion, terraced block, and interlocking grid side slopes. Is there any other information that TS needs to have before we meet on the 17th. We need to leave the meeting with a clear understanding of how to proceed with the permit and the design of the channel and roadways. Thanks >>> "Tammy Hoelscher" <tah@freese.com> 2/9/2004 10:15:30 AM >>> Suzan, In looking at the utility design I have a couple of questions for you. 1. Does the City have a design manual for utilities? 2. In designing the waterline horizontal alignment on Coppell Road, it appears the best alignment would be to have a waterline under the pavement, due to a substantial number of utility conflicts outside of the pavement. If I remember correctly, the City prefers utility lines outside of the pavement. Would an under pavement design be acceptable if necessary? If more details are needed for such a decision, let me know and I will get them to you.
