Suzan,
As I mentioned yesterday, Transystems met in our office on Tuesday morning to discuss issues associated with
the culvert and channel design. Following is a summary of the discussion:
· 100-yr EXISTING conditions discharge is the design storm based on previous conversations with Ken
· Transystems has modified proposed channel in model and on P-P sheets so that they match
· They have modified their culvert modeling approach to change for the use of BT cards to SC card in HEC-2
· Roadway elevation at Bethel Road in model should now be consistent with both Transystem and FNI topo
· Agreed to startJstop point of pavement construction
· Agreed to design of transition from Bethel west section to our cross section for Bethel
Action items: · Transystem to provide FNI email from City regarding design storm variance
· FNI to confirm with City 100-yr existing conditions design and freeboard requirements for our project
· FNI to finalize culvert size/shape desired at Coppell Road and incorporate desired culvert design into latest
HEC-2 model received on 2-24-04 from Transystems
· Transystem to complete design of channel and culvert beneath Bethel Road (including culvert routine
changes and XS location revisions, etc.)
· Transystem to provide finalized model to FNI for use in designing Bethel road (they indicate needing one
week to complete this task after we revise per item 3. We provided the revised model with #3 addressed
yesterday).
· Transystem to coordinate with City and Alan Plummer regarding COE 404 permitting.
So, I think we are finally moving forward again! Yea! As you may have guessed, I'm not ready to submit 60%
plans on March 2. Based on the time it will take to get these items complete and to work thru the 404 information
that Alan Plummet needs, I would like to revise our submittal date to April 9. Please let me know if this is
acceptable. I am not pleased with the delay, but we needed to work these items out before proceeding with the
design. Please let me know if you need additional information or if we need to discuss more.
