1. We do have our own specifications. Use Natches Trace for reference.
2. We will be specifying Video (its cheaper now anyway). State Spec will be used.
3. LEDs are specified in our specifications. State Spec needs to be utilized.
4. Spread Spectrum radio needs to specified also-
MDS 9810 Spread Spectrum Radio or equal w/power supply
Yagi antenna with mounting hardware
Cable to connect Radio to Naztec NT980 Local Traffic Controller System Up Port 29P to
MDS9810 25P RS232 Cable
In-line Coax surge Protectors
Logic Ground Isolator Box w/cable
2 - Coax Cable Connectors
50' of Coax
Didn't know we were going to be receiving any upgrades at these locations.
Note: Denton Tap already has LEDs and radio. Coppell road will have LEDs soon.
Thanks, Per

Freese & Nichols is working on the 60% submittal on Bethel Road has a few questions concerning the
traffic signal upgrades at Coppell Rd. and Denton Tap.
1. Does the city have their own traffic signal details or are we to use TxDOT or other entity? I looked
through the set of details that we obtained earlier and it has paving and utilities only.
2. Is there a preference between Loop Detectors or Video Detection?
3. Is there a preference between L.E.D. signal heads and standard incandescent lights?
Thanks
