Mr. Kenneth M. Griffin=
We have reviewed the latest drainage area map and computations provided to us
by your consultant. With some minor revisions to the map and the computation
sheet, we are in agreement with the hydraulic data required to design Culvert
S-5. This culvert will be placed under the thirty inch Dallas Water Utility
Water Line on the East side of Denton Tap Road. It will cross Denton Tap Road
at approximately Sta 8+60. The 2 - 8'x 5'culverts will tie into the existing
lO'x 10' culvert under Vista Ridge Property that discharges into Denton Creek.
We have determined that a 25-year discharge design, using TxDOT discharge
design criteria, will not "blow-out" the upstream inlets for the overall
system. We will need a legal document ensuring that all parties (TxDOT,
Coppell, Mr. Fraze, and Mr. Winzeler) are in agreement to the design data (ex.
drainage areas, coefficients of runoff, etcetera).
We anticipate your receiving a drainage easement in the name of the City of
Coppell from the Vista Ridge Property owners over the 10'x 10' culvert. In
the interim, we would appreciate your providing TxDOT with a Letter of Intent
concerning the easement. This will enable us to continue with the design of
the drainage facility.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please feel
free to contact Mr. Kenneth J. Shirley at the above address or at telephone
number (214) 235-7797.
Cordially,
C~n ~
Area Engineer
