RE: Coppell Water Storage Tank
Dear Frank:
In order to provide zero buoyancy of the proposed 500,000 gallon water storage
tank under flood conditions with an outside water level of 446.0 (mean sea level
elevation), one of the following conditions must be met:
A. The tank as presently designed would not be bouyant if an inside
water level of at least 14'-3" is maintained;
The footing at the base of the tank can be increased from 9" to
7'-6" wider than the tank walls and the thickness increased from
1'-0" to 1'-6", which will provide zero buoyancy with the tank
empty.
Please advise us of any necessary changes in the tank design; and call us if
you have any questions.
Yours truly,
Larry ~es-~, P.E.
