Dear Mr. Busby:
Construction plans for Force Main Lines 'A' & 'B' were provided to CoServ in April 2003 for review
and comments. The project consists of the installation of 5,515 linear feet of 20- to 30-inch force main.
The City bid the project with two alternate construction methods for the installation of the force main:
open cut and directional drilling. On March 23, 2004, the City awarded a construction contract for the
open cut installation of the force main.
The force main will generally be constructed in the median of MacArthur Boulevard and the open cut
method has the potential to impact more utilities. If you have any facilities within the median, you may
want to review the set of plans with regard to the open cut installation. Please advise me of any
potential utility conflicts and comment as to any precautions that should be taken to protect your
utilities. Impacted facilities will need to be adjusted. A pre-construction conference for the project will
be scheduled in the near future.
