Re: Paving Assessment at Coppell Substation; Power Lines along Sandy Lake Road
(Existing and Contemplated)
Dear Mr. Sieb:
Pursuant to our earlier discussions, including our meeting on February 26, 1993, I am
writing to confirm TU Electric's position regarding the paving assessment along Coppell
Road adjacent to the electrical substation and the electric power lines (both existing and
contemplated) along Sandy Lake Road.
(1) TU Electric will enter into an agreement with the City to remove the wood pole
69 kV electric transmission line presently in place along Sandy Lake Road and
depicted in the plat attached (labeled "Locator Map - TU Electric Transmission
Line" with the wood pole line highlighted with a yellow marker), and allow the
City to utilize (donate) the right-of-way easements (presently owned by TU
Electric for this wood pole line) in the City's proposed improvements and
widening of Sandy Lake Road.
(2) TU Electric will enter into an agreement to pay the City the paving assessment
(estimated at between $179 and $200 per running foot) for the electrical
substation site frontage along Coppell Road (designated by TU Electric as the
"Coppell substation").
TU Electric is willing to enter into an agreement for the two (2) matters stated above
conditioned and contingent upon the City entering into an agreement to provide TU Electric
sufficient right-of-way along Sandy Lake Road to construct a double-circuit 138 kV steel
pole electric transmission line, preferably in a "center median" configuration, within the
City's proposed improvements and widening of Sandy Lake Road (as depicted in the plat
attached (labeled "Locator Map - TU Electric Transmission Line").

We want to make very clear that TU Electric maintains an existing double-circuit
138 kV transmission line which exits the Coppell substation in a westerly direction alongside
Theawtt Road. The easements for this power line were acquired from private landowners
and the right-of-way is not within the presently existing road right-of-way of Thweatt Road.
This power line is not the subject of any of the agreements set forth in this letter.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions in this regard.
Yours very ruly2 ._ . -,
