RE: Brighton Manor (Falls at Westmont)
Dear Mr. Caruthers:
Observations I made onslte during utility construction revealed exposed shale deposits in
many trench line areas. My concerns are and have been the possibility of voids in the
water and sanitary sewer trench lines due to these striated shale pockets. Densities have
been taken in various locations and may or may not have met City of Coppell minimum
requirements. However, due to the size of the shale deposits observed, I believe voids do
exist.
Please make immediate corrections to the existing trench lines and all future trench lines
on this project. It may be advisable to request a site visit from your geotechnical
engineer to definitively address this matter. If you have any questions, please contact me
at (972) 304-3684.
