PROGRBSS REPORT AS REQUESTED, PBT MADE A SEE VISIT TO OBSERVE AND TEST THE UTILEY TRENCH
RECONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR REC~D ~I'IE BOITOM OF THE RE-EXCAVATED TRENCH BETWEEN STA.
0+76 AND ST,&. 1 +80 TO A MINIMUM ~F '~1~. TEST NO. 2 WAS PERFORMED AFTER THE CONTRACTOR
RECOMPACTED THE EXISTING BACKFILL. AFTER THE PROPER DENSITY WAS OBTAINED THE GEOTEXILE FABRIC WAS
PLACED OVER THE SUBGRADE. THE CONTRACTOR THEN BEGAN PLACING BACKFILL MATERIAL IN THE TRENCH IN
APPROXIMATELY 8-12" LIFTS. EACH LIFT WAS ROLLED UNTIL A MINIMUM OF 100% DENSiW WAS OBTAINED.
TEST NO. 6 WAS EVALUATED USING A PROCTOR VALUE AND MATERIAL DESCRIPTION OBTAINED DURING THE
ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION. 2 9
