PROGRESS REPORT (CONTINUED FROM SHEET 1 OF REPORT 4) THE CONTRACTOR AND THE ClIY (KENT COLLINS) WAS
ADVISED THAT AN ADDITIONAL SECTION OF ROAD SHOULD BE REMOVED TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF
SETTLEMENT. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE AREAS OF SEll'LEMENT WERE IN AREAS WHICH WATER HAD BEEN
ALLOWED TO POND AFTER THE PREVIOUS NIGHT'S RAIN. THE MATERIAL PLACED IN THE ORIGINAL TRENCH
APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PLACED WITH VERY LrlTLE COMPACTIVE EFFORT. IN SITU DENSITY TESTS COULD NO BE
PERFORMED ON THIS MATERIAL BECAUSE OF THE PONDED WATER

ARRIVAL TO THE PROJECT SITE, PBT OBSERVED THE SEI'rLEMENT OF MATERIAL ALONG THE EXISTINg-; TRENCH AT
5TA. O+75, WHERE THE EXISTING ASPHALT FOR THE EAST BOUND LANE WAS STILL IN PLACE. THE EXISTING
TRENCH HAD SE1TLED TO A POINT THAT THE MATERIAL UNDER THE ROAD HAD CAVED IN. [CONTINUED ON SHEET
