Thank you for your observations on Sandy Lake. However, I would like to assure you that the City has not
"finalized" the construction of Sandy Lake. While it may appear that the street is complete, the City has
been in ongoing conversations with the contractor on some deficiencies in the work. The failure at
Mapleleaf is one of the failures that has been noted along with a failure on the north side near Woodcrest.
The City continues to hold a portion of the contractors money. My last correspondence from the
contractor was 2/18/04. I am currently waiting on some information from the design consultant for Sandy
Lake before I contact the contractor again.
I will have my Street Division look at the pothole to see if an asphalt patch is needed. It's often not
advisable for City crews to work on a project until it has been accepted by the City.

i called last week and reported about the damage street along sandy lake road going east bound near
mapleleaf lane. there is a huge pothole or chip that you can feel it once your tires hit it. it's been there for a
while (probably for a month or two) and i wonder when will you guys fix it.
sandy lake road is a brand new road that was finalized about two years ago, and some damages are
showing up. i do hope that y'all with consider fixing it before an accident may occur due to neglection.
will the city reimburse any expenses in result damages on my tires because of that neglected pothole?
