However, I would like to assure you that the City has not "finalized" the construction of Sandy Lake. While it may appear that the street is complete, the City has been in ongoing conversations with the contractor on some deficiencies in the work. The failure at Mapleleaf is one of the failures that has been noted along with a failure on the north side near Woodcrest. The City continues to hold a portion of the contractors money. My last correspondence from the contractor was 2/18/04. I am currently waiting on some information from the design consultant for Sandy Lake before I contact the contractor again. I will have my Street Division look at the pothole to see if an asphalt patch is needed. It's often not advisable for City crews to work on a project until it has been accepted by the City.
