On behalf of the City of Coppell, I would like to invite you to attend a Focus
Group session on the development regulations and processes for the City of
Coppell. During my initial year as City Manager of this community, our
development review process has been criticized, praised or approached with
indifference by developers and engineers. At various times, there have been
public statements that we are the most difficult community in the Metroplex to deal
with. There have also been instances where individuals have written to local
media, after dealing with our review process, and praised the reception and
assistance they received from the City as a whole.
We would like to attempt to identify the areas of mutual concern for active
participants in the development process. We feel this Focus Group atmosphere
would provide a forum for frank and open discussion and will lead to the eventual
resolution of some of the problems individuals have pointed out. It is our hope
this forum will re-establish any lines of communication that might have broken
down during the past few years, as well as allow the City Staff and you to interact
as individuals free from the entanglements that occur when a particular matter is
being brought forward through the process. This Group will be limited to
individuals who are considered to be active participants in the development
process.

The meeting will be held on March 7, 1995 at 9:30 a.m. in the 1st Floor
Conference Room at Town Center. A brief luncheon will be served around noon,
and we hope to conclude the meeting by 2:00 p.m. At the end of the meeting, we
will discuss the need for a continuing series of quarterly meetings to address
development issues.
