CF-Denton Creek Trail-CS031020ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT DENTON CREEK/ASBURY MANOR TRAIL PROJECT COMMENTS October 20, 2003 We need to resolve the amount of sealant to be used on the control joints: a) plans call for tool joint which is not feasible b) contractor sawedthejoints already 2. Aligmnent and tie-in to existing ADA ramp at Westminster Way a) It would appear that if the alignment of the proposed 12' trail were modified to move east, the conflict with the expanded metal fence and brick masonry pylon at the box culvert could be reduced. 3. The question has come up whether to apply the 6" yellow centerline stripe a) In the past, it has been Parks & Recs' request not to apply this stripe, but it is specified in the contract. 4. The section of trail adjacent to Asbury Estates has surface water flowing from various lots. This will cause water to travel over the proposed new trail. a) Contractor has installed some 4" perforated pipe in an effort to relieve the surface water effects. b) It had to be done in my opinion, but it is not a pay item. 5. After reviewing the plans, I noticed that Pacheco Koch was listed as the civil engineering firm, however, no engineer's seal or signature was applied to the plans. 6. As you are aware, there is an existing inigation system in the 20' easement adjacent to Asbm'y Estates and Asbury Manor. It is my understanding at this time that no provisions were made for its replacement in this contract, and the intent is for the Asbury Manor, Asbury Estates and Mansions on the Lake HOA's to replace this existing system at their cost. a) Cross-sleeves need to be provided at various locations under the proposed 12' trail to allow for re-installation of the above mentioned irrigation system at a later date. b) It appears that the contractor is attempting to provide some sleeves for this purpose.
