Roadway and Channel Improvements
Dear Mr. Denton:
The City of Coppell is designing construction plans for Bethel Road I. The project will
affect an area larger than five acres and we are requesting your review and approval as
required by the Texas Antiquities Code. Enclosed please find a set of half-scale plans for
the proposed construction.
The project is located in the Grapevine Quadrangle and the limits of the project are
shown on the attached USGS map. The project includes + 6700 linear feet of roadway
improvements and + 1900 linear feet of channel improvements along Stream Gl. The
existing two-lane asphalt road will be removed and a four-lane divided boulevard with
improved drainage will be constructed. Stream G1 will be reconstructed into a 35-foot
wide, gabion basket channel with a grass bottom. An individual permit for the
construction of the channel has been submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for
their review and approval.
