ST9302-CS 961115Sandy Lake Road:
PROJECT STATUS
November 15, 1996
Design
Preliminary Plans: accepted by City
Final Plans: 90% complete; meet w/consultant 12/96 to review
Right-of-way:
35 parcels to acquire
· Letters sent to 12 owners; have met w/four owners
· Anticipate right-of-way to be complete mid-97
(this should allow time for any necessary eminent domain acquisition)
Construction:
· Utility relocation to begin in mid-97 (earlier if all right-of-way obtained)
· Actual construction to begin in fall 97 (Contingent upon being able to work through the
NCTCOG on obtaining the CMAQ funding for the Moore Road/Sandy Lake Road
intersection in FY/1997. If that is not possible, the project will begin in early-1998.)
Issues:
Lower 30" water line to Town of Flower Mound
Meeting held w/Dallas, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Upper Trinity River
· Flower Mound to have alternate water supply in early-97 from Upper Trinity River to
allow the existing 30" to be lowered with the Sandy Lake project
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding for Moore/Sandy Lake (about
SS00,000)
Intersection has to be designed and approved by TxDOT
Contract awarded to Unzicker, Schnurbush & Assoc. and the intersection removed
from our contract w/Rady
Right-of-way cannot be acquired until after Environment Impact Study (EIS) complete
Intersection may need to be bid/built separately from the Sandy Lake project
Cannot start intersection until after lowering of 30" water line
Trying to work with TxDOT to allow inclusion in Sandy Lake
$300,000 is allotted in FY 1998 by NCTCOG if project ready prior to that time, will
petition NCTCOG to reallot funds to FY 1997
Summary: · Best Case: begin construction mid-97
· Realistic: considering CMAQ funding, EIS, right-of-way, begin construction early-98
