RE: Brighton Manor (Falls at Westmont)
Dear Mr. Caruthers:
The City of Coppell Engineering Department is in receipt of your letter of May 24 responding to
our letter of May 18 regarding the use of questionable materials in sewer, stom~ drain and water
trench lines. We take issue with the statement in your letter that "...the City of Coppcll
(concluded and agreed) that most exposed locations revealed suitable backfill conditions." If
you are in possession of gcotechnical reports that relate to the site visit on Thursday, May 20 you
will note that material was found on the project in thc mentioned trench lines that was larger than
6 inches. The objective is to meet the City of Coppell's minimnm requirements and NTCOG
standards for this type of material insuring settlement does not occur in any trench line.
in the contents of your letter it would sccm that your professional opinion is that all requirements
have bccn met. If settlement does occur, what assurances does thc City of Coppell have that the
necessary correction ,.,,.'ill be made other than the two-year nraintenancc bond?
Also, an additional issae that has recently come to our attention on the subject project site is
natural springs that flow through the property. Is this issue being properly addressed?
