Dear Mr. Griffin:
In response to your letter dated May 12, 2004 regarding the award of Bid/Contract #Q-1203-01,
please find below our written response to the two items that arose during the city council meeting.
MasTec North America, Inc. has retained the services of Norman Tarney from Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada to be the equipment operator on this project. At this time the work visa documents have
been submitted to allow Mr. Tarney to be employed for this project. As you are aware, Mr. Tarney
has vast experience with equipment of the nature and will be a great asset to the project.
MasTec North America, Inc. will complete improvements adjacent to the elementary school during
the summer months of 2004. Doing this work during this time frame will minimize disruption to
school activities and minimize safety concerns which the presence of small children may create.
This work includes work between station 15+73.84 to approximately 27+00.
