ST9401-CS 931221To: From: RE: Date: MEMORANDUM Jim Witt, City Manager Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E., City Engineer Denton Tap Road December 21, 1993 On December 21, 1993, Mike Martin and I, met with Mr. Tom Dingler, Director of Engineering for the City of Lewisville, concerning Denton Tap Road. Mr. Dingler scheduled the meeting to inform the City that Lewisville will be constructing Denton Tap Road from the interchange of F.M. 3040 and S.H. 121 to Highland Drive as a six lane divided roadway. They will also be constructing a three lane asphalt roadway from Highland Drive to the Spur 553. There will be an asphalt transition in the City of Coppell to transition back to the existing two lanes. Also, there will be an extension of the storm sewer pipe to allow for the drainage of the roadway. The extension of storm sewer pipe will be contained almost entirely within the City of Coppell, however, it would be constructed at the City of Lewisville's cost. Mr. Dingler is unsure of the exact timetable. He stated that this was part of a five-year bond election that has been approved and the plans are currently under design. The project could happen within one year, or within five years. Mr. Dingier stated that once the plans were finalized, he would provide a copy to the City of Coppell for a courtesy review to insure that any work within the City limits of Coppell met our specifications and/or requirements. This information is passed along as information only. At this time there is no action to be taken on the part of the City. If you should have any questions, or need any additional information, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. cc: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works file&griffin/denton
