a) Safety Traffic Control - Warning Devices - Lighted Barricades
b)
Working hours
Inspection hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For work on Saturday - request must be
made by 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday and called-off by 3:00 p.m. on Friday. No work
without written approval notice.
c) Contractor responsible for all construction staking as per the plans.
d) Testing City will choose the testing laboratory contractor will pay for any retesting.
e) Contractor responsible for locating and protecting all utilities. Must pay for, or repair ail
damaged utilities in a timely manner. Contractor responsible for any damage to
landscaping due to a damaged irrigation system.
f) Contractor needs to dispose of all waste before it becomes a problem.

Traffic Control - work hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Only one lane of traffic can
be closed at any time. No lanes closed before 9:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. Intersection
and turnaround closures.

k) Superintendent on site at all times.

4. Construction Methods
1. Trench Embedment
,, Type B-2 & C - V4" crushed stone to ~ up outside diameter of pipe - 1' sand over
pipe
· Type C - when used in streets 95 - 100% compaction, +5 percentage points above
optimum moisture. Cement stabilized sand from top of embedment to bottom of
concrete, 1 foot behind back of curb.
2. No water jetting allowed.
Expansion Joints
· Full depth redwood boards extended through curbs
· At ends of each radius or as per plans and specifications
Paving
· # 3 rebar at 18" o.c.
· 3600 - 6 sack concrete - no fly ash batch design
· #6 smooth dowels x 24" long at 24" o.c.
· All concrete to be plated prior to releasing traffic. Contractor at his expense may
have cylinders cast early (3 days) otherwise plating (1" thick x 1' overlap of patch)
shall remain for 7 days assuming cylinder is okay.
5. All disturbed areas of median and parkway to be resodded with common Bermuda grass
sod and kept watered until established.
6. All barricades left behind curb overnight to have lights.
