Re: Sandy Lake Road
Reconstruction
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Pumuant to your request we have evaluated the potential impacts that
construction of the West Sandy Lake Road project might have on an existing
stone retaining wall located approximately on the right-of-way line between
stations 55+00 +/- and 59+00 +/-. The vertical alignment of the proposed
roadway in this area will result in the pavement being placed very near or below
the elevation of existing ground at the outside curb line which is located
approximately 20 feet from the wall. We have determined that this project can be
constructed to the proposed horizontal and vertical alignments in a manner
without increasing the pressure on this wall. We will incorporate into the final
design the required elements, as necessary, to prevent the roadway
improvements from imposing additional loading on this structure.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need additional information
concerning this item.
Sincerely,
