RE: Coppell Road Reconstruction
Dear Ms. Taylor:
Attached for your review are three sets of revised preliminary plans. Also enclosed are final right-of-way
and easement exhibits for your use.
We have added the water line design to the plans. In our last meeting we discussed reducing our fee for the
water line design based on the fact that our project did not start at Bethel Road. Before we make this
adjustment I would like to bring up an issue that can be addressed with a part of this fee. As you are aware
the roadway is being lowered to allow the adjacent runoff to drain into the roadway. Because of this the
existing sanitary sewer in Coppell Road from Kaye Street to the Plantation Drive / Ruby Road intersection
will be shallow (2-5 feet from top of curb to top of pipe). Our field surveying indicates that this section of
sanitary sewer could be rebuilt and lowered approximately 2 feet. The existing sewer profiles are plotted on
the paving plan profiles for your reference. Let me know either way if you would like us to include the
design of this section of sewer in our contract and I will get you a letter on the fee revision.
I believe we have addressed the items in your review letter dated April 5, 2004 with a few exceptions:
· We have identified the trees to be removed on the plans. We are working on compiling a list of the
removals.
· We are still investigating the irrigation systems along the roadway.
· At this time it is our intent for the barrier free ramps to be constructed using truncated domes. A set
of details is attached for your review.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
