Dear Mr. Griffin
My corner of Samuel and Duncan (SWest) has been torn up since February of
this year for a water connection across Samuel to a new development.
After months of hearing a loud thumping noise every time a car sped over a
heavy steel plate patch on Samuel about 30 feet from my den, having my
corner grass torn up by a deep hole and having orange fencing blocking the
sidewalk at this corner, all has gone quiet. BUT the corner still looks
like it is under construction. There is dirt every where up and down
Samuel. I don't think they did a very good job on the concrete street
patch. And, my grass (if you'd call it that) on the corner looks pathetic.
In fact no grass has been replaced yet. With people walking, running,
riding bikes, etc, while the sidewalk was blocked off for nearly 6 months, I
have no grass left on my side of the footpath at the corner, or next to the
curb.
I would like to make a couple of requests - can the city send someone out to
clean/sweep the Samuel/Duncan area street, and can you have someone look at
the grass on my corner? I would like the city to replace the grass on the
corner, both in the area nearest the street and the corner area of my front
lawn where people beat down a mud path in what was grass, while the sidewalk
was blocked for 6 months. If the city will put down a few square feet of
Bermuda sod I will keep it watered.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions. I look forward to having
a good looking lawn again, and a clean Samuel.
Thank you,
Alan O'Martin
