Two weeks ago. the Council approved proceeding with the development of Sandy Lake Road, including placing two-foot diameter, 95 to 105-foot high poles in the new median. Council and audience that Sandy Lake Road reconstruction coula be delayed as much as two years because rerouting the power lines would require approval of the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC). Robertson said the City might also have to spend millions of dollars on land to reroute the lines, which appeared to be the alternative favored by residents. Roger Hart told councilmen it was inconsistent of them "to move forward with something that is so unsightly.., aesthetics matter in this town."
