This fax is in response to $.J. Louis' Proposal No. 3 sent to the City on 7/14/04 (see
attached) requesting permission to cross over the City of Irving 54-inch water main at
approximate Station 45+60 instead of crossing under the water main as designed. TCB
has no objection to this proposal from an engineering perspective. However, we
contacted Kenny Boyle at the City of Irving regarding this request, and the City of Irving
will not allow the sanitary sewer force main to cross above their water main,

This proposal addresses the 20" D I P. force main to be installed La 30" steel casing ~om Sm. 45+48 thru Sea.
¢5~-76 of Line 'A" on the above referenced project. The construction plans call for this area to be bored
under the ex~sting 54" water main. We are proposing to Lastall the force main over the existing water main
and give a credit to the Owner for this change. The force main would be installed ia the 30" casing by open
cut methods in lieu of by bore The grades would be slightly modified to match the same ending flowlinc
elevation at Sta. 47+66.68. The items below represent credits and additions that make up the overall credit
amount for the OWaCL In additton, it is possible that the 4" ak & vacuum relief valve at Sra. 46+23.11 could
be elirmnated due io the elimination o£ the four (4) 20"-22.5 degree bends at this locanon. Please let us know
'as soon as possible if this proposal is acceptable and/or if you need any additional inforraafioa or if you have
any questions. If acceptable~ let u, know if the air release valve is still required and/or if it needs to be
relocated- A quick response to this proposal would be greatly appreciated.
