Dear Mr. O'Dell:
This letter is in response to our conversation regarding record information related to the
installation of the HDPE sections. In accordance with Specification Section 02643 and ASTM
F1962, the record information that should be provided to the City by the Contractor once
installation of a particular section is complete is as follows:
· Record of the actual as-built bore path, including plan and profile views;
· Information obtained during the initial bore on soil characteristics;
· Final borehole diameter;
· Steering or correction commands during installation;
· Drilling fluid usage and pressure;
· Type of drill head used;
· Records of pullback forces at the drill rig;
· Installation rate;
· Documentation of fusion temperature, pressure and time for HDPE joints (number joints so
that approximate location of each joint can be estimated);
Any additional available information related to the installation of the pipe useful in verifying the
pipe shall perform the function for which it was designed and constructed should also be provided.
If you have questions or require additional information, please call me at 972-735-3056.
Sincerely,
