Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019-4409 Re: City of Coppeli Deforest Road Lift Station Improvements Force Main Line D Project No. SS 99-01 Dear Mr. O'Dell: This letter is response to our conversation regarding the inspection of the HDPE piping after installation. Item 6.7.2.(c) in the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (3rd Edition), which are incorporated into the Contract Documents for Force Main Line D by reference, requires visual inspection of installed sewer mains by photographic means when so desired by the Owner. In lieu of visual inspection, we have no objection to passing a mandrel through the pipe to verify the pipe shall perform the function for which it was designed and constructed. Based on the inside diameter of the 30-inch diameter SDR 17 HDPE piping, plus the internal beads at the joints, the use of a 24-inch mandrel is appropriate for this purpose. If you have questions or require additional information, please call me at 972-735-3056. Sincerely, Erika K. Cooper, P.E.
