Attached is thc fee proposal from TranSystems for the realignment of a portion of Bethel
Road. The proposal also includes the fee for the water line extension to the west. As you
had expected, the fee is high. It can be trimmed.
I e-mailed Patrick Nwakoby with Explorer Pipeline after receiving the fee proposal. 1
detailed the additional design fees and design changes that we had authorized in the past
two years in an order to have a 5-foot separation distance between the proposed
improvements and the pipeline. (TranSystems had always indicated that we needed a
minimum of 5-foot) I told him that we were in the final design phase and that this
realignment was going to cost the City substantial fces as well as additional design time.
Patrick called and said that he thought a lot of the problem ~vas going through
TranSystems on this issue. He said they would be willing to work with us on this
conflict. I asked hint if he would meet with us to discuss options that would minimize
any additional cost or design time to thc City. I will set up a meeting time if you want to
meet with Explorer before we make a decision on thc fee proposal.
