At your earliest convenience, please acknowledge your agreement with your consultant Engineer's response to R.F.I. No. 1 and that the no additional cost change is acceptable and that the HDPE pipe sections will be paid for as if the ductile iron pipe was installed. 'Survey data (coordinates and bearings) will be requirsd. · TCB has not reviewed the experience, qualificatinn~, or equipment of the proposed horizontal drilling sul>-eontrac~or Downsizing of Bored Steel..Casin~.lD.iameter/ I ~ ]'CB has nO object/on to dox, msiz/ng &the bored steel casing diameter as proposed by 'axe: Contractor, with the understanding that the Contractor assumes thll respons~ility for thc more diflicult installation in smaller casing. The total amount of the savings, as calculated by S.J. Louis, is $13,420. The proposed split of 1/3 of r. he total savings to the City, 1/3 to S.J. Louis, and l/3 to the subcontractor is not acceptable. The City should receive one-half of the total savings ($6,710), or the diameters of the steel casings shall remain 36-inches and 48-inches.
