Griffin P.E., Assistant City Manager/City Engineer Sandy Lake Road ST 93-02 May 31, 1994 During the presentation of the conceptual plans at the December 14, 1993 City Council meeting, there was some concern about the fact that a median opening was not provided along Sandy Lake Road at the western most drive approach into the Minyard Shopping Center. After much discussion, the conceptual plan was approved from Chaucer Estates to the east. Staff was then instructed to reevaluate the section from Chaucer Estates to Denton Tap Road to determine if it was possible to allow a median opening. After discussion with the consultant, it was determined that we could provide a median opening at the western most drive approach into Minyard Shopping Center if we provided dual left turn lanes. There was additional surveying and man hours needed to arrive at this solution. Rady and Associates has provided an invoice in the amount of $3,011.00 for that work. In addition to that, since the inception of the project there has been additional development along the north side of Sandy Lake Road near MacArthur Blvd. In particular, the subdivisions Fountain Park and Waters Edge Phase II have been developed. To field verify the improvements associated with those two subdivisions and put that information on the plans cost a total of $870.00. Attached to this memo is a letter from Rady and Associates for total consideration of $3,881.00. If it is your opinion that these can be accomplished without a Council agenda item, please sign and return a copy so that it can be processed to Rady and Associates with payment. If it is your opinion that we need to go to Council to revise the contract, please let me know and I will take forward an agenda item on June 14, 1994. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me at your convenience. file/kgriffin/sandylk/53194, mm
