Re: Map for Hydrologic Analysis
Dear Mr. Ginn:
At the February 8, 1994 City Council meeting, the Engineering Department brought forth an
agenda item to adjust the design contract with Rady and Associates to provide for the creation
of water map/computer information to generate "what if" games on providing water to Flower
Mound during the construction of Sandy Lake Road. You may recall that the City had worked
with you previously to ascertain whether this information was available as part of the Water
Master Plan generated by your firm in 1991. Our last correspondence from your office was in
September, 1993 in which you stated that you had reviewed your files and were unable to locate
the map that would show the location of all the nodes and pipes used in modeling the water
system for the Water Master Plan.
The City Council approved the adjustment to Rady's contact; however, as paxt of the motion
they instructed staff to contact your firm for reimbursement of the $10,000. It was the opinion
of the City Council that this information should have been available from your firm upon request
by the City. Therefore, the City of Coppell respectfully requests that Ginn Corporation
reimburse the City of Coppell in the amount of $10,000 for the creation of water data necessary
to evaluate our system due to the inability of your firm to produce that information.
If you should have any questions are comments please feel free to contact me at your
convenience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
